Expenditure on employees salaries and pension benefits forms a major part of the public expenditure of states. Therefore it is essential for the government to keep a data base of employees in order to know their type, number and for the need for Estimating present and future staff costs, budgeting, impact analysis for designing and implementing pay commission awards and expansion of benefits, etc

Employees Data
The Employees' database consist of all employees of the state government, public sector undertakings, autonomous bodies and those institutions who receive grants from the government. All employees whose salaries are charged from the consolidated are included in this data.

The employees data is derived from various sources namely
  • (1) salary and wages drawn via pay and account offices
  • (2) salary and wages drawn from Gram Vikash Kendras
  • (3) salary drawn by self cheque drawing departments
  • (4) salary and wages drawn by PSUs
  • (5) salary and wages drawn by autonomous institutions
